First of some old stuff
This is my friend getting ready for her college Graduation. The lighting in that apartment has a horrible mixter of natural and yellow light. First I tried just turning off one light or the other, and then it was way to dark. So then I used a flash to try and over power, then once I threw in a fill card it worked out alright. These two still had a little too much yellow in them when I started doing the post. So through Raw I threw them into black and white and I think it works out better this way anyways.
This was a shoot i did the other day just for fun. My main problem was getting her to relax, but once i got some music going she her personality come out and I think that that really made the picture. There are more to come, I just need to finish editing them.
jewelry
The assignemt that i shot these for was jewelry, close up. We were not required to have a model, but i decided that i wanted to go that route. The first one is my favorite, and the one that I plan on turning in. The 3rd one has alittle bit more of a narrow focus then I wish it did, but I love the lighting, so I chose to post it any ways. My lighting for this was simple. I put a moveable wall next to my model, and lit it. Mainly for the jewelry, I wanted a big source to create soft light, also I did not want to directly light my subjects.
Desserts

This was my first attempt at shooting dessert, and overall i happy with the results. I was going for a dessert at a more high end resturant, and the atmosphere of evening.
falling colors
This weekend I went and walked around, and took pictures of the leaves. This time of year is so beautiful, there are just colors everywhere. There are just so many more colors then you would normally see. I took this picture of abby, daniel’s dog because I just loved what the color of her coat did amongst all of the leaves. and by the way, the dog does not sit up straight, i tilted alittle in camera, but most that is the dog.
This next picture I took just playing around with negative space and selective focus, I wish I had just a little bit more in focus, but overall I’m happy with it.
final bubble
This is my final edit for the bubble shot. I added some bubbles in her glasses and in the background. I also softened up her face. The idea behind this shot is an advertisement for sunglasses.
Crazy Piano Player
This has to be one of my favorite images so far. My poor model. It took me over an hour to do her hair. it had mouse, gel, and hair spray in it. I really feel that it helped the photo though. I noticed years ago, (plus being a piano player myself) that most really good musician really get into their music and just go wild. I took that idea and just took it further
Bubbles
this past weekend, I spend the day with the same girl that had previously modeled for me, and gave her a thing of bubbles to play with. mainly I was just interested in how the bubbles would react to light, and how to make them show up photographically. The main thing I figured out was that, like smoke, they needed a dark background.
model edits
These are some of my final edits for the model shoot I did the other day
Model Shot
This is a model shot I did of Alicia. The funniest part of this shoot was watching her try and walk in these heels. The shoes were mine, and although they fit her well, they were certainly not made for her walking style.
